IPSR Talent Genie: A New Pace and Complete Success

IPSR Talent Genie held on January 20, 2011 taps into the unique atmosphere of a great program to bring out young talents. The program was conducted solely for BCA, B.Sc (CS, IT, EC), MSc (CS) students. 204 students from various colleges such as M.A College Ramapuram, S.S Colleg, Poothotta, M M NSS College Konni, College of Applied Science Adoor, KE College Mannanam, and DB College Keezhoor participated in the program. Talent Genie program was headed by Prof (DR) MENDUS JACOB CEO, IPSR GROUP, (Director, MCA, Marian College, Kuttikkanam). Program was conducted in two sessions with a general awareness session and an aptitude session.

Through Talent Genie program, increasing importance is given to evaluate general awareness of participants as well as to provide a platform to exhibit their inborn talents. Self assessment was the initial step. Students were weighed up on how they have been reading news papers and periodicals. During evaluation, questions were asked to test how aware a candidate is of social, economic, technical etc. Students who answered those questions were given grace marks. After that students realized their weak areas. Those students who were strong in academics mite were weak in GK. Some were weak in understanding of current trends and technologies as they had never read news papers regularly. Talent Genie program succeeded in motivating students to take a right step to improve themselves and attain miraculous results. Students with strong interpersonal skills, Blogging skills and ability to lead a team were also recognized and awarded with grace marks. Talent Genie program also initiated to provide a startup with necessary skills to become an entrepreneur.

Talent Genie program aimed to give equal priority to check honesty and integrity, which are the major keys of success expected from students.  Grace marks were given for those students who were never struck with malpractices. As an initiative, Talent Genie motivated students to ensure that they are conscious of expectations and get the goals set for them. A complimentary copy of Quantitative Aptitude - a text book for aptitude preparation – was distributed among the top scorers. Teachers were also accompanied with students to make this event a grand success.
